ADLYN BAZIL

May 11, 1922 ~ January 2, 2018 (age 95) 95 Years Old

A Mass of Christian Burial for Adlyn Bazil, age 95, will be held Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at DeSmet, Idaho.  Rosary will be held Friday evening, January 5, 2018 at 7:00 PM at the Evan Abraham Longhouse at DeSmet.  Father Robert Erickson, S.J. will officiate at the services.  Adlyn passed away Tuesday night at the Schneidmiller House in Coeur d’Alene, ID.

Adlyn was born May 11, 1922 at Tekoa, WA to Charles and Rose (Gates) Bazil.  She was raised in Lovell Valley near Plummer, ID and attended the Sister’s School at DeSmet.   Adlyn attended Chemawa High School at Salem, Oregon, graduating in 1940.  She later attended college in St. Ignatius, Montana.

Adlyn married Noel Crenshaw in 1944, and the couple lived in the Spokane area where they raised their family.  They lived in Spokane, Garden Springs, Peaceful Valley, later in Grand Coulee and Moses Lake, WA.  After a few years in Seattle, she moved to California and lived in El Monte and later in Oroville, Ca.   She returned to Plummer, Idaho in 1981.

Adlyn was a homemaker for most of her life.   She was an excellent seamstress and had worked for Goodwill Industries and for the Salvation Army repairing clothing for their stores.   She had also worked sewing parachutes during World War II.  She made moccasins for her children and made most of her children’s clothing while growing up.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church at DeSmet, and a member of the Coeur d’Alene Tribe.

Survivors include her children, Ricky Blue-sky of California, Avis Villegas of Worley, ID, and Frances White of Plummer, ID; 2 grandchildren, Robyn Villegas of Spokane, and Henry Katasse of Coeur d’Alene; 3 great grandchildren, Raven, Jade, and Aspen Katasse, all of Portland, OR.  Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews including Antonia Rose Rainwater, Richard Garry, Edward Gonzales, Nancy Wilson, Theresa Wilson, Charlotte Wilson, Mary Ann Wilson, and Gabby Wilson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Noel Crenshaw, and her son, John Crenshaw.
