Ann Cavender

August 30, 1941 ~ June 11, 2017 (age 75) 75 Years Old

A Celebration of Life for Ann Cavender, age 75, will be held Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Tekoa, WA.  Father Sean Thomson will officiate at the service and urn burial will be held at Goldenrod Cemetery in Tekoa, WA.  Ann passed away June 11th, 2017 at her home in Clarkston, WA.   A reception will follow the service at the Parrish Hall.

She was born August 30, 1941 at Chicago, Illinois to George and Delphia (Olson) Fischer.  Her family moved west to Tekoa in 1942.  She attended schools in Tekoa, graduating from high school in 1959.  She married Floyd Cavender on May 31, 1959 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Tekoa. 

The couple lived in Kent, WA for 2 years, in San Francisco, CA for 4 years, and then moved to the Chicago, Illinois area where they spent the next 30 years.  They moved to Northern California in 1985 where they lived until 2012.     Ann worked as an office manager for several companies in the Chicago area and in Northern California.   She retired in 2012.  They returned to Washington in 2012 when they moved to Clarkston.   Her husband Floyd operated a dental lab in the Chicago area, and managed apartments in Northern California.

Ann was an avid reader, and enjoyed history and trivia.   She was a fan of Jeopardy on TV for many years.  She enjoyed travel and exploring historical sites.  Her hobbies included skiing and camping.  Ann enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening.

Ann was a loving mother, good cook with a great sense of humor.   She was an award winning seamstress.     Ann was a great card game score keeper with endless patience.

Survivors include her husband Floyd at the Clarkston home; her children, Kent (Priscilla) Cavender, Janette (Kevin) McAdams, and Shari (Matt) Warndorf all of Northern California; her siblings, Carol Fischer of Tekoa, Sharon Koontz of Republic, WA, and James Fischer of Tekoa; and eight grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by a son, Mark Cavender.
