A memorial service for Dianne M. Allen, age 63, was held Thursday, August 17, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Evan Abraham Tribal Longhouse at DeSmet, Idaho.  A family prayer service was also held at the Longhouse.   Caj Matheson will officiated at the services.  Mrs. Allen passed away Friday evening, August 11, 2017, at her home near DeSmet, ID.

Dianne Martha Matheson was born on November 10, 1953 at Tacoma, Washington to Donald and Pauline (Camille) Matheson.  She attended schools in Fife, Washington, and Lewis and Clark High School in Spokane.  She later attended the University of Idaho where she graduated in 1994 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education & and a Bachelor’s Degree in early childhood development.  Dianne later earned a Master’s Degree in childhood development.  She had been employed as the Director of Education for the Coeur d’Alene Tribe.

Dianne married Michael W. Allen Sr. at Coeur d’Alene, Idaho on February 28, 1980.  The couple made their home near DeSmet.

She was a member of the Coeur d’Alene Tribe.

Survivors include her husband Michael Allen Sr.; her children, Caj Matheson of Spokane Valley, WA, Michael Allen Jr. of Plummer, Idaho, Rosanna Allen of Spokane Valley, WA; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; her siblings; Charlene Matheson of Tacoma, David (Jenny) Matheson of Worley, ID, Marjorie (David) Zarate of Fife, WA, Donna Matheson of Plummer, ID, Charles Matheson of Spokane Valley, and sister - in – law Cathy Matheson of Worley.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Matheson.  Kramer Funeral Home of Tekoa, Washington is caring for the family.
