Georgia Cummings, age 98, passed away May 21, 2019 at Whitman Health and Rehabilitation in Colfax where she has lived for the past 3 months.
She was born April 13, 1921 at Seattle, Washington to Les and Orpha (Baughman) Brundage. Her family moved to the Tekoa area when she was a young girl. She attended elementary school in Tekoa.
Georgia married Milton M. Cummings on May 24, 1941 at Coeur d’Alene, Idaho and the couple made their home in Tekoa where Mr. Cummings worked as a carpenter. During her lifetime, Georgia was a homemaker, worked in the kitchen at the Tekoa Care Center, and worked several years at Seeds doing planting for the company. Her husband Milton died in 2001. Georgia had made her home at Ladow Court in Garfield for the past 5 years. After a fall in February, she moved to the Rehab in Colfax.
Georgia enjoyed picking huckleberries in the fall, and loved making Afghans for her friends and family.
Survivors include her two sons, Les Cummings and Ken Cummings, both of Tekoa 4 grandchildren and a sister, Alberta Krell of Fairfield, Washington. She was preceded in death by a sister, Pearl Farrell.
