I was saddened to read of Gerald's passing in the Colfax Gazette. Gerald and I are related through the Pettyjohn families. We also shared the same birthday, July 13, but Gerald was ten years older than I. We worked together out of Starbuck, WA in hauling hay for Allen Sprout the summer of 1952 or 1953 and realized we were both working on our birthday. I admired Gerald for his basketball skills while in Starbuck where we both attended school and both transferred to Dayton. He was an excellent shortstop for the Starbuck park league team. My condolences to the Fletcher family and my thoughts will be with you on July 13. Cliff Martin, Tacoma, WA

Thoughts and prayers to the Fletchers on the loss of your dad! Mom (June Yale) and I visited with him while they were both living there at Sullivan Park. He was so very happy to see our mom! She passed away, also, on May 26th., just 10 days shy of her 102nd birthday! Our deepest condolences to all of you!

I'm so sorry to read about the passing of your father. I knew him for many, many years and I'm glad I dropped by his room to see him briefly when I was in Spokane in May. Our sympathy goes out to all of Gerald's family.
