A Mass of Christian Burial for Helen M. Randle, age 60, will be held Thursday, April 11, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church at DeSmet, Idaho. Rosary will be Wednesday evening at 7:00 P.M. at DeSmet Longhouse with Father Peter Byrne, S.J. officiating at the services. Burial will follow at the DeSmet Mission Cemetery. Helen passed away on April 4, 2019 in Spokane.
Helen Marie Randle was born on February 1, 1959 at Seattle, Washington to Marie Moctelme and George Kelly. She was raised in the Seattle area and spent most of her life there. She attended schools in Seattle, including Garfield High School. She later attended college classes in Seattle.
Helen Randle worked for Indian Health Services in Seattle for many years as an administrative assistant. She had also worked for Western State Hospital in Lakewood, and in 1996, moved to the Coeur d’Alene Reservation and worked at the Benewah Medical Center in Plummer for 10 years. For the past few years, she has been helping take care of her grandchildren. She has made her home in Spokane for the past 2 years.
Helen was a member of the Coeur d’Alene Tribe, and a member of the Catholic Church. She enjoyed spending time with her grandkids, and was an excellent seamstress.
Survivors include her two daughters, Sharon Randle of Spokane, WA and Xaviera Welch of Fairfield, WA; 12 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Sharon Pakootas of Plummer and Lovella Jones of Seattle, and a brother, Christopher Randle of Plummer.
