JOHN MERLIN WISTI

Funeral services for John M. Wisti, age 44, will be held Monday, March 25, 2019 at 10:00 AM at the Rose Creek Longhouse at Worley, Idaho.   Burial will follow at St. Michaels Cemetery at Worley.   Mr. Wisti passed away on March 19, 2019 at Providence Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane.

John Merlin Wisti was born on March 22, 1974 at Twin Falls, Idaho to Henry Nipp and Rebecca Wisti.   He was raised on the Coeur d’Alene Indian Reservation.   He attended schools in Plummer and graduated from Lakeside High School.    Following high school, John worked for Alton Automotive, worked in Tribal Planning, worked at the casino at Worley, and worked as a fire fighter for the Coeur d’Alene Tribe.   He had also worked with his uncle, David Daniels, logging in the area.  For the past three years, he has lived in Cheney, Washington.

He was a member of the Coeur d’Alene Tribe.  His hobbies included fishing, hunting, and playing the guitar.

Survivors include his mother, Becky Edgar of Cheney, his sister, Jessica Edgar of Cheney, his baby daughter, Mariah Rose Wisti of Plummer, and his partner, Gabrielle Fauzey of Cheney.   He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
