A graveside service for Joyce Walters, age 87, will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Goldenrod Cemetery in Tekoa, Washington.  Mrs. Walters passed away on Saturday, October 14th at her home in Seattle, Washington.

She was born December 17, 1929, in Tekoa, WA to Leonard and Gladys (Nunnally) Woods.  She attended schools in Tekoa, graduating from Tekoa High School in 1947.   Joyce married Robert J. Walters in Tekoa on June 12, 1949, and the couple made their home in Tekoa. The couple later lived in Spokane, Davenport, and Pullman.  They returned to Tekoa in 1986.  Her husband Bob died in February of 2011.  Joyce moved to Seattle to live near her family in 2013.

She is survived by:  one daughter, Stacey Ann Walters of Seattle, Washington;  one son, Robert John Walters (and his wife Carol Walters) of Kirkland, Washington;  two grandchildren, Bryan Walters and Taia Walters Wilen (and her husband Anthony Wilen); and one great-grandchild, Addison Wilen

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Warren Woods, Karolle Cavender, Audree Schutz, and Evan Woods.

For her entire long life, Joyce’s priority was her family.
