MARLENE J. (TANNER) DOHRMAN

Marlene J. Dohrman, age 87, passed away Sunday, October 21, 2018 at her home in Tensed, Idaho.  

She was born Marlene Jeanette Tanner on September 23, 1931 at Spencer, Nebraska to Lewis and Bernece (Daman) Tanner.   She attended schools in Nebraska and in Plummer, Idaho where she graduated from Plummer High School in 1949.  Marlene married Stuart Dohrman on May 12, 1950 at Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and the couple made their home at Tensed where Stuart logged and operated a sawmill.  He later worked for Benewah County as a truck driver.   Marlene, a homemaker most of her life, worked as the Postmaster at Tensed for several years.    They retired in 1993.   Stuart died in November of 2013.   She continued to make her home at Tensed.

She was a member of the Tensed Community Church, and was a lifelong member of the honorary Air Force Air Defense Team in 1959.

Survivors include her children, Clayton (Lisa)   Dohrman of St. Helens, Oregon, Lynette Moss of Spokane, WA, and Carol Zarate of Tensed, Idaho, her siblings, Wilbur Tanner of Moscow, Idaho, Martha Hertz of Palouse, WA, and June English of San Diego, California; 9 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

A viewing will be held Wednesday, October 24, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Kramer Funeral Home in Tekoa, WA.    A memorial service will be held Thursday, October 25, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Tensed Community Church with Pastor Tom Owen officiating.    Urn burial will be held at the Freeze Cemetery near Potlatch, Idaho at a later date.    Kramer Funeral Home of Tekoa, WA is caring for the family.
