Sharon Ann (Mitchell) Shinnick

July 3, 1951 ~ September 13, 2017 (age 66) 66 Years Old

Sharon Ann Mitchell Shinnick, 66, of the Plummer area , passed into the arms of her Lord on September 13, at Coeur d 'Alene, Idaho, surrounded by her family and loved ones.

Sharon was born July 3rd, 1951, to James and Grace Mitchell of Plummer.  She spent her first 4 years in a cozy log cabin 2 miles north of Plummer, with brothers Jimmy,  Michael, Patrick, and sister Sandra. Younger brothers Dan and Joe completed the family.

She attended Plummer schools , graduating as valedictorian of her class in 1969. She was a class officer, member of French Club and Honor Society. She graduated with honors from Kinman School of Business, and began her career as a bookkeeper at Graybar Electric in Spokane.   After her marriage to Jerry Shinnick in 1979, she lived 13 years in Santa Maria, Ca. ,working at Yoplait Yogurt.   They moved to Coquille, Or., where she worked over 20 years for the Coquille County DOT, retiring to care for Jerry.  He passed away in 2012,from an aggressive cancer. A highlight of Sharon’s life was a three month trip to every state in the continental USA with her 89 year old Mother, Grace. In 2014, Sharon found the love of her life with Charles Riley of Coquille. They moved to Seal Rock, OR with their 4 dogs. They had recently returned to the Plummer area to enjoy their golden years with family and friends.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents and brother Jimmy. She is survived by brothers Michael (June) and Dan (Jan) of Plummer,  Patrick (Lorraine) of Los Angeles,  and Joe (Kim) of Idaho Falls; sister Sandra Bingman (Vern) of Pomeroy; numerous nieces and nephews; step daughter Karrie Lulack and family of Plains, Mt., and her beloved Charlie.

Sharon loved the ocean.  She lived beside it for over 40 years, enjoying beach walks and the seafood. She also enjoyed traveling, sewing, crafting, and her flower gardens.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Plummer Bible Church. Graveside service and potluck dinner will follow. Memorials may be given to the James and Grace Mitchell Scholarship Fund, 1605 8th St, Plummer, ID;  or the Plummer Bible Church, Box 146, Plummer, ID, 83851.
