DARLENE RICKETT Obituary

After years of loving and serving her Lord, Darlene J. Rickett went to be with Him in her Heavenly home on June 24, 2019.

A memorial service for Darlene J. Rickett, age 85, will be held Saturday, June 29, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Community Presbyterian Church in Oakesdale, WA.    Pastor Erik Buhl will officiate at the memorial service.    Darlene passed away on June 24, 2019 in Spokane, Washington from age related causes.

She was born September 16, 1933 at Lewiston, Idaho to Roy M. and Della (Chapman) Maynard.  She attended local schools and graduated from Lapwai High School in 1951.  Following high school, she attended Eastern Washington College at Cheney, WA.  Darlene returned to college in 1983 and proudly graduated from Portland State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business.

Darlene married Russell W. Rickett on August 16, 1952 at Lewiston, Idaho.  The couple made their home in Beaverton, Oregon where they raised their four children.   Darlene worked as Office Manager for Beaverton Nazarene Church from 1966 – 1983.  She later worked as Office Manager for Guerrin Property Management in Beaverton from 1986 – 1997.  Darlene and Russ both retired in 1997.   The couple moved to Oakesdale, Washington in 1999.

Darlene was a tireless and prolific quilter in retirement.  She was a founding member of the quilting club in Oakesdale, and a member of the Oakesdale Community Presbyterian Church.  Her hobbies included reading and camping.

Survivors include her husband Russ at the Oakesdale home; her children  Dianne Jo (Herbert) McDonnell of Beaverton, OR, Patti (Bob) Corwin of Lake Oswego, OR, Les (Susan) Rickett of Estacada, OR, and Craig (Maureen) Rickett of Oakesdale, WA; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.   Also surviving are her sisters Shirley (Al) Nichelson of Fernwood, WA and Nancy (John) Kehler of Priest River, ID.    She was preceded in death by her brother, Duane Maynard.

Memorial gifts may be given to Oakesdale Community Presbyterian Church, Handicap Ramp Fund.
