She was born April 8, 1926 at Wenatchee, Washington to George and Margie (Imus) Dark.  Marvel attended area schools.  Marvel met Bruce Ebert in Ponderay, Idaho in the late 1940’s when he worked for the railroad.  The couple was married on May 10, 1944 at Sandpoint, Idaho, and in 1949 they moved to Oakesdale, Washington.   Marvel was a homemaker, and her husband Bruce worked as a telegrapher – agent for the railroad.    Marvel also worked as a seasonal lab technician for the soil conservation district, and had been a waitress at local restaurants in Oakesdale.   Her husband Bruce died in 2008.  She continued living in Oakesdale prior to moving to the Courtyard in Colfax in 2015.

She was a former member of the Jaycee Club in Oakesdale.  She enjoyed supporting children in local sports programs, often helping as a scorekeeper.   Her hobbies included sewing, crocheting, and ceramics.   She was an excellent cook, and enjoyed spending time with her family.

Survivors include her three sons, Ray Ebert and his wife Rita of Rogers, Arkansas, Dale Ebert of Lewes, Delaware, and David Ebert and his wife Kathy of Cheney, Washington, three grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.   Also surviving are two sisters, Shirley Robinson of Long Beach, Washington and Roberta Hart of Hayden, Idaho.
