VIOLET VIRGINIA NICHOLAI

A Mass of Christian Burial for Violet Virginia Nicholai, age 58, was held at 10:00 AM on November 15, 2019 at the Omak Longhouse in Omak, Washington.  Rosary was held Thursday, November 14, 2019 at 7:00 PM at the Longhouse.  A Rosary was also held Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at 7:00 PM at the Rose Creek Longhouse at Worley, Idaho.  Burial was at the Shady Rest Cemetery at Mallott, Washington.

Violet was born April 13, 1961 at Omak, Washington to Russell and Irene (Monaghan) Buckner.   Violet was raised in Omak, Washington.   She attended the Pascal-Sherman Indian School.  Violet moved to Plummer, Idaho in 2002 where she made her home.  She married Nicholas Nicholai in 2006 at Coeur d’Alene, Idaho and the couple made their home in Plummer.  Violet was a homemaker all of her life.  She had recently moved to Hot Springs, Montana and passed away at Missoula, Montana.

She was a member of the Colville Tribe.  Her hobbies included riding Harley’s and she was a member of the Thunderin’ Buffaloes Motorcycle Club.  She enjoyed fishing, camping, picking huckleberries, baking and traveling.   She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband Nicholas Nicholai at the family home, her daughter Joey Buckner of Worley, Idaho, her daughter Samantha Lowley of Portland, Oregon; her siblings Theresa Bessetto and Beverly Buckner.  Also surviving are 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her son Miah Nicholai.
