Gene D. Savitz passed away from complications of Parkinson Disease on October 25, 2019 at his home at Cristwood Park Independent Living in Shoreline, Washington.
Gene was born on May 1, 1928 to Ralph and Florence Savitz in Tekoa, WA. He graduated from Tekoa High School in 1946. He then enlisted in the United States Navy and served from 1946 thru 1948.
He enrolled at Eastern Washington University in Cheney, WA where he met and married Jimogene (Jimmie) Gulick on September 15, 1950. He graduated in 1952 with a B.A. in Education and later received his M.A. in Education in 1962.
Gene taught in Waterville, Pomeroy, Central Valley in Spokane, and Shorecrest and Shorewood High Schools in Shoreline, WA. He retired in 1982.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Florence Savitz, his brothers Vern, Bill, Harvey, Wallace, and Gerald. He is survived by his wife of 69 years Jimmie and his brother Jim (JoAnn) Savitz of Tacoma, WA; and many dearly loved nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
He will be inurned at Goldenrod Cemetery in Tekoa, WA. Kramer Funeral Home of Tekoa is handling the local arrangements.
