A Celebration of Life for Henrietta A. Kraack, age 76, was held Thursday, August 27, 2020 at the Rose Creek Longhouse in Worley, Idaho. Henrietta passed away Wednesday, August 19th at her Plummer, Idaho home. Urn burial will be at the Mica Creek Cemetery near Rockford, Washington.
Henrietta Madison was born September 11, 1943 at Coeur d’Alene, Idaho to Henry and Nancy Lafleur Madison. She was the youngest of eight children in the family. Henrietta was raised on two separate farms, one near Coeur d’Alene and one on the Spokane Indian Reservation in Ford, Washington. She attended schools in Coeur d’Alene and at Ford. Henrietta later attended college in San Jose, California where she studied electronics.
Henrietta had married Dean Kraack and helped raise his four children. The marriage did not work out and the couple divorced.
Henrietta moved to the Coeur d’Alene Reservation in the late 1970’s and started working for the Coeur d’Alene Tribe. She worked as the Tribes credit department manager and later as the Contract Health Manager at the Benewah Medical Center until she retired.
Henrietta met Bob Poirier and they stayed together for over 30 years. Mr. Poirier died in 2015.
She was a member of the Coeur d’Alene Tribe, the Eagles Lodge in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and a member of the V. F. W. Auxiliary in Rockford, Washington.
She is survived by seven nieces and nephews including Teresa Blake and Willette Haines. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Ralph, Francis, Evelyn, Betty, Patricia, Edward, and Shirley.
