LEON R. WOLFE JULY 4, 2022
Leon R. Wolfe, 89, a lifetime resident of Tekoa, WA passed away on July 4, 2022 at the Whitman Medical Center in Colfax, WA.
Leon was born on Jan. 12, 1933 at Tekoa, WA to Joseph and Laura (Riggs) Wolfe. He attended the Tekoa Schools.
Leon started working at Dorsey Chevrolet as an auto mechanic at an early age and worked at the dealership until it closed. Leon later worked as a farmhand for Randy Fisher of Farmington for 5 years. Leon later worked for the city of Tekoa as the Cemetery Maintenance personel for several years until he retired. Leon also helped build the Tekoa swimming pool back in the 1950’s.
Leon married Anna Johnson on June 14, 1952 at Princeton, ID and the couple made their home at Tekoa. Anna passed away in 1984. He later married Patricia O’Meara on August 3, 1985 and she died in 1996. Leon later met and was a partner with Anne Brown and they shared their lives together for 23 years. Anne died in 2019.
Leon enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding snowmobiles. He collected antiques and enjoyed visiting with his many friends and family.
Survivors include two daughters, Laura Ann Hokenson (Tim) Farmington, WA, and Kathy Smith (Steve) Tekoa, WA. Leon is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Betty Jean Wicklund (Mike) brother Lester Wolfe.
