William S. Harper, age 92, passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at his rural Plummer home. At his request, no services will be held.
William Harper was born September 19, 1927 at Waterbury, Vermont to Jerry and Ellen Harper. He attended schools in Vermont. Following his school, Bill started working as an auto serviceman in Burlington, Vermont.
In 1947, he enlisted in the United States Army where he served for the next 3 years. He was honorably discharged in March of 1950 as a corporal.
Following his service, William married Maryann Dick and the couple raised five children. The Harpers lived in the Plummer, ID area. He worked at a gas station in Fairfield for several years, the worked as a warehouseman at Fairfield Grain Growers for over 30 years until his retirement. In 1990, the couple moved to their rural Plummer home.
Mr. Harper loved to fish, and spend time with his family.
Survivors include his wife Maryann and the Plummer home, his children, William Harper Jr. of Rockford, WA, Marie Harper of Plummer, ID, Sharon Gaudette and Pat Gaudette of Vermont, Marsha Harper of Burlington, Vermont, and Rich Hehr of Spokane, WA. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, John Harper, Pearly Harper, and Walter Harper.
